Legendary photographer Terry O’Neill is being hosted by Getty Images Gallery at the Westfield Shopping mothership in West London.
His photography documents the style, fashions and personalities of the 60s in intimate detail. Photographing Royals, musicians (Beatles, Stones et al) and politicians with equal measure he captured a vulnerability beneath the surface not seen before.
He had a longtime relationship with Faye Dunaway, a son in 1980 and they were married from 1983 – 86. I guess this suggests he was both sides of the lens at times and became the story as much as recording it.
This picture is in the collection of the Natonal Portrait Gallery in London, it links to the San Francisco Art Exchange where the lucky can call for a price.
