Texting and Driving is bad

A couple of posts ago I commented on the new ‘Drug Driving’ campaign and largely its short comings. Since then Gwent (South Wales) Police have issued this video. Hugely popular on You Tube it clearly links the cause and effect of texting while driving. It’s gritty, pulls no punches and is strikingly real.

It’s made news items across the world. It cost £10,000 to make and is at 1.5 million hits and rising. The Department of Transport campaign costing £2.3 million is still in the thousands of hits. Does this mean that showing honesty and real consequences trump special effects and style?

Here’s the clip. Advance warning to the slightly squeamish there’s quite a bit of blood. (And that’s probably the point).
