We were asked to help out initially as mentors in the field of web design, this led to us assiting in evolving the logo and the website of a charity doing important work helping boys from African and Caribbean origins reach their full potential.
From the website.
The Amos Bursary was established in June 2009 by the Amos Family in memory of Mike and Dolly Amos, parents of Baroness Amos of Brondesbury, former Cabinet Minister, and current Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief.
Mike and Dolly were passionate about education and devoted their lives to teaching and giving unwavering support to their children and grandchildren, believing in the power of education as a way to a better future.
And
The Amos Bursary Boys selects boys at the age of 16 (First year 6th Form) and they stay with us for the duration of their University experience. Throughout the 4 ½ years they participate in an intensive programme of personal and professional development. We make sure they are prepared to tackle with determination the challenges that will come their way. We teach them how to be flexible in their thinking and approach to work, how to face the unknown with confidence and enthusiasm and provide them with the best social and ‘people’ skills to survive and thrive in their adult lives.
It’s very easy to see why we wanted to be a part of this great project. We designed a website template for their team of student volunteers to translate and populate into a working website.
We also took this opportunity to tighten up the charity logo and provide them with a more complete array of visual devices to work with.
